Scorers: Perez 38′; Lewandowski 20′, 35′, Torre 58′, Raphinha 75′, 83′
Barcelona continued their impressive start to La Liga life under Hansi Flick as they thrashed Villarreal 5-1 to move four points clear at the top of the Premier League.
The Blaugrana took the lead midway through the first half through Robert Lewandowski, before the Polish striker added a second ten minutes before the break.
Ayoze Pérez pulled one back minutes later, before Barcelona were rocked by a serious injury to goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen, who was forced off on a stretcher with what looked to be a serious injury.
After a nervy start to the second half, Pablo Torre restored Barcelona’s two goal advantage with a long range effort, before Raphinha put the result beyond doubt with two quick goals inside eight minutes as Flick’s side brushed the Yellow Submarine aside to continue their perfect start to the Spanish season.
It could have been more for the Blaugrana, but they will certainly be happy with five.
